Andy Brown leaves Galp’s management at the end of the year

Andy Brown, CEO of Galp, will step down on December 31, 2022. The announcement was made in a statement to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), shared on Monday morning.

The company indicates that Andy Brown “has communicated to the ‘board’ that his mandate will end on December 31, 2022, after successfully fulfilling the mission to which he has committed.”

“It is with great honor that I accepted the invitation to complete the 2019-2022 period with the aim of preparing the company for a successful future in times of great challenges for the industry. During my time as CEO, I dedicated myself to achieving our purpose, regenerating the future together, and transforming Galp into a more open, dynamic and profitable company, adapted to the cleaner energies of the future”, says Brown, quoted in a statement. .

Paula Amorim, “president” of Galp’s “board” comments on Brown’s decision, highlighting the “inspiring cohesion and the excellent work done in restructuring the company to grow and transform the portfolio to lead the energy transition (…)”.

Galp explains that it will announce the new executive who will head the oil company “until the end of the year.”

Andy Brown joined Galp in 2021, after 35 years at Royal Dutch Shell.

At the opening of the session on the Lisbon Stock Exchange, Galp shares began the day appreciating 1.52% to 10.01 euros.
