CP – Comboios de Portugal foresees interruptions in traffic between the end of January 3 and the beginning of January 6, due to the strike called by the National Union of Conductors of the Portuguese Railways (SMAQ).
Workers will exercise their right to strike for overtime and on days off between 00:00 on January 3 and 23:59 on January 8, and between 00:00 on January 4 and at 11:59 p.m. on January 5, the workers of the categories represented by the SMAQ are on strike for the provision of any and all work, the SMAQ highlighted in a note on its website.
CP explained, in a statement, that it foresees disturbances to circulation with “special impact” between the end of January 3 and the beginning of January 6. For January 4 and 5, minimum services were defined, which can be consulted on the company’s website, for the services of Alfa Pendular and Intercidades; Regional, Interregional and International; Porto and Coimbra Urban Trains and Lisbon Urban Trains, he also highlighted.
CP will allow reimbursement, in the total amount of the purchased ticketto customers who have already purchased tickets to travel on the Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional and Regional trains, or “their free revalidation for another train of the same category and in the same class”.
“Refunds can be requested at the ticket offices and at cp.pt by completing the ‘online’ form, sending a scan of the original ticket and indicating your name, postal address, IBAN and NIF, up to ten days after the end of the strike.” , highlights the company in the press release.

According to the note on the SMAQ website, the strike was marked by “lack of answersof the CP and the guardianship and for the “flagrant absence of a salary update proposal that covers the inflation registered in 2022”.
