Compensation to Alexandra Reis. The Treasury says that it is up to TAP to articulate with the Treasury and calculate the amount to be returned by the manager

The Ministry of Finance clarifies that TAP was informed that it had to calculate the amounts corresponding to the return of the payment made to Alexandra Reis last year, as compensation for leaving the position of administrator. The instruction for TAP to settle the values with the Treasury and with the former administrator was given this Tuesday, April 11 (the day of Manuel Beja’s hearing in Parliament), and indicating that it was a current management issue.

The response given to the Observer by an official finance source comes after president of TAP having said in Parliament that the return of this amount, which according to the General Treasury Inspectorate was misallocated, was awaiting instructions from the General Directorate of Treasury and Finance.

Manuel Beja indicated that the company sent to the DGTF (which is financially responsible for TAP), on March 23, a request for guidelines on what should be returned because the calculation of unused vacations is at stake and the SII that company delivered to the Tax and Customs Authority. In other words, Alexandra Reis did not receive the 500,000 euros (not even the 450,000 euros that the General Treasury Inspection orders to return), but a smaller net amount because there is a part that was delivered to the State and will have to be returned to TAP; which implies a settlement of accounts with the tax authorities. “It is on the table of the general director of the Treasury,” added Manuel Beja, recalling that the Treasury is also in charge of the Treasury.
