The Government failed to comply with more than half of its anti-fraud plan

More than half of the strategic plan for the fight against fraud and tax and customs evasion drawn up by the Government remains to be fulfilled, the application of which should end in 2022. Of the 60 measures, 37 have not yet been fulfilled, including the implementation of the alert system for cash withdrawals greater than 50,000 euros and the access of the Public Prosecutor to the database of the tax authorities.

The information is provided by Jornal de Notícias, based on the 2022 report on the fight against fraud and tax and customs evasion, the term was later extended by two years, but it is still far from being fully in force. Given these figures, the Ministry of Finance, but did not get any response.

The hiring of specialized workers in artificial intelligence was another measure of the strategic plan, however, it has not yet been implemented.
