Venture capital Atena Equity Partners launched a third investment fund, Atena III, which has around €60 million to invest in Portuguese companies. In a statement, the venture capital explains that it will invest in companies that need to “ensure their succession or restructuring, as well as in sectoral consolidation movements and in business units and companies where the shareholder groups intend to divest (sizes)”.
The fund will invest in companies across all sectors, particularly in areas such as Industry, business services, healthcare and information technology.is explained in more detail. The companies that will receive the investments will have to meet some conditions, such as having a turnover level greater than 10 million euros, with positive or negative results.
The new fund was fully subscribed by private institutional investors from Europe and the United States. Although it is not specified which ones, there are references to family offices and endowments (funds that are derived from donations and can be used to fund social causes and non-profit organizations).

The other two funds managed by Atena Equity Partners have already invested in companies such as the Malo Clinic dental clinics, the mold company Tecnifreza, the pharmaceutical company Sidefarma or the scientific toy company Science4You.
