Hollywood stars have called for movies and TV shows to promote responsible gun ownership and limit scenes of children with guns by signing an open letter.

The letter was drafted in response to the recent mass shootings in the US in Yuvaldi and Buffalo by top producers JJ Abrams, producer of “Lost”, and Shonda Rhimes, producer of “Bridgerton” and president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy.
The message, released by the Brady Campaign, a nonprofit organization that works to control the proliferation of weapons, included: “Cultural attitudes toward smoking, drunk driving, seat belts, and gender equality have evolved due to the influence of Movies and TV It’s time to address the issue of gun safety.
The letter notes that firearms have recently overtaken car accidents as the leading cause of death among American children. “We are asking colleagues in the creative community to limit scenes of children using weapons,” the letter said.
He also considered that “the responsibility lies with lax laws supported by politicians who fear losing power more than the desire to save lives.”
The open letter was signed by more than 200 Hollywood personalities, including: Amy Schumer, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Jimmy Kimmel, Damon Lindelof and Adam McKay.
