Three flights were diverted due to bad weather in Madeira

Three flights to Madeira, from Lisbon, London and Paris, diverged this Friday to other airports due to the bad weather affecting the island, which was under a yellow warning for rain until 12 noon.

According to the information available on the ANA — Aeroportos de Portugal website, the operation at the Madeira international airport, located in Santa Cruz, in the east, is experiencing some limitations with delays and diverging flights, but until 11 a.m. I had canceled no outings.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) put the island of Madeira on yellow warning this Friday until midnight due to rainfall, which could be intense at times.

In IPMA terminology, the yellow warning is the least serious on a scale of three and means “a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.”
