Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday night, aged 96, after falling ill, and was taken to hospital this afternoon.
Buckingham Palace announced the news in a statement: “The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral tonight. Prince Charles and his wife will remain at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow.”
And Buckingham Palace in Britain announced that Queen Elizabeth has been placed under medical care, in accordance with doctors’ instructions, due to her poor health.
And Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper had earlier said Prince Charles arrived at church on Sunday at Balmoral without Queen Elizabeth as she remains at home amid constant health concerns.
Prince Charles had arrived at the traditional church service on Sunday at Balmoral without the Queen, where he stayed at the house, which he had been hosting in the Scottish Highlands on his summer vacation since July, and was not among parishioners at the weekly service at Crathe Kerk, and the Queen, who was not seen, was also not seen. She has been a regular chapel-goer during his stay at the royal palace last year, in public since she traveled to his summer retreat in July.
