Tourists make up most of Broadway’s revenue, with residents of other cities purchasing 63 percent of tickets, according to the Broadway League.
The crime epidemic in New York is deterring tourists from returning to the city after the pandemic. The New York Police Department recently reported that major crimes are up 36 percent this year from last year, rapes are up 10 percent from 892 to 989, and violent crimes are up almost 20 percent.
Grand thefts increased by a staggering 48.3 percent, while thefts rose nearly 40 percent.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, backed by George Soros, took a more tolerant approach to law enforcement. He recently released without bail a 16-year-old suspect who was reportedly caught on video violently assaulting an NYPD officer, according to Breitbart News.
