Study shows blood type ‘at highest risk for heart disease’

Heart disease affects all its functions and parts, causing about medical conditions such as angina, heart attack, and heart failure, which can be fatal.

The risk of heart disease can be reduced by adopting a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, not smoking, and daily exercise. But there are other risk factors you can’t really handle, including blood type, which a Harvard School of Public Health study says can be linked to heart disease risk.

The study’s lead author, Associate Professor Lu Zhi, and colleagues revealed the “most dangerous blood group.” According to their study, people with type A, B, or AB blood have a higher risk of developing coronary heart disease compared to people with type O blood.

And for those at risk for heart disease, having AB blood type is even more dangerous.

Professor Chi explains: “While people may not be able to change their blood type, our findings will help clinicians better understand people at risk for heart disease. It is good to know your blood type the same way you should know your cholesterol numbers or blood pressure. And if you know you are at high risk, you can reduce your risk by adopting a healthy lifestyle, such as eating right, exercising and not smoking. ”

The researchers obtained data from two longitudinal research studies involving 89,550 adults over 20 years.

And people with blood type AB are 23 percent more likely to have heart disease than others.

Meanwhile, those with type B blood have an 11% higher risk. Those with blood type have a 5% risk.

The NHS says there are four main types of blood: A, B and AB

and O. The authority added that “blood type is determined by genes we inherited from our parents.”

In addition to each blood type, we find the Rhesus blood group (RhD) system, which classifies blood groups as negative or positive, making a total of eight blood groups.

Blood type is determined by antibodies (proteins found in blood plasma) and antigens (protein molecules found on the surface of red blood cells).

Dr. pointed out. Muhammad Jaber that blood type O not only has a lower risk of heart disease, but also stomach cancer.

“In particular, people with different blood types are more likely to get stomach cancer. Researchers think it may be because H. pylori infection is more common in people with certain blood types. It is a bacterium that is usually found in the stomach and can cause infections and ulcers.

People with AB blood type may be more likely to have memory problems, and people with blood type may have more cortisol, the stress hormone.

However, women with blood type 0 are more likely to have fewer healthy eggs.
