The Russian authorities announced this Wednesday the capture of two more towns in the province of Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine and the main focus of the invasion launched by Moscow’s forces in February 2022.

The Russian Ministry of Defense indicated in a statement on the Telegram network that “Units of the Southern group of forces liberated the city of Serebrianka,” while the Center group took control of Nikolaevka.

According to the Ministry of Defense, these units “continue to advance deep into enemy defenses”after having taken dozens of places in Donetsk in recent months.

kyiv has not yet commented on Russia’s announcement.
