Russian doctor Alexei Vodovozov announced that doctors do not recommend drinking alcohol after vaccination against “Covid-19”. Is it allowed when vaccinated with the nasal vaccine?
In an interview with Radio “Sputnik”, the doctor said that alcohol suppresses the immune system. Therefore, experts of the Russian Center “Gamalia” advise not to drink alcohol after vaccination with the “Sputnik V” vaccine against “Covid-19” for at least three days. Some experts advise not to drink alcohol before the vaccination also for 3 days and others for 2 weeks.
He added, however, that when using intranasal vaccination, there is an important issue to consider.
He said: “After receiving the nasal vaccine, you must refrain from eating and drinking liquids for two hours. Because the vaccine during this period must spread throughout the mucous membrane, before it is “washed down” with food or drink. This means you should also avoid drinking alcohol.
And he added, it is true that there are no recommendations not to drink alcohol two hours after receiving the nasal vaccine. But there are expert recommendations.
He said: “By drinking alcohol two hours after receiving the nasal vaccine, the vaccine may not work to the required level. Therefore, you should avoid drinking alcohol for three days after vaccination and preferably for two weeks. , to complete the development of immunity against “Covid-19”.
He added that there is no need for special preparations before revaccination with the nasal vaccine.
He said: “There is no prohibition on drinking alcohol for some time before receiving the vaccine. But if alcohol is in the blood during the vaccination, it may not work as expected. Because ethanol is a poison, that is, alcohol should not be present in the blood at the exact time of vaccination with the nasal vaccine, and not a few days before vaccination.
