The Portuguese MARO sang in the final of this year’s edition of the Eurovision Song Contest – and the contest’s official YouTube channel has already published a video with the interpretation of “saudade, saudade” this Saturday, in Turin. You can review the moment here:
The singer-songwriter, who won the RTP Song Festival and became the representative of Portugal in Eurovision, qualified for the final with the song “saudade, saudade”. In the bookmakers’ predictions, he appeared, at the beginning of the final, outside the top 10 but within the top 15 of candidates for victory.
Last year, Portugal’s representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest were The Black Mamba, who also managed to qualify for the final and finished in 12th place with the song “Love Is On My Side”.
La Mamba Negra’s performance resulted in Portugal’s second best result in this singing contest in the last 25 years, being surpassed only by Salvador Sobral’s victory in kyiv, in 2017.
