The Summer Fest festival returns to Ericeira, in Mafra, on Friday and Saturday, after a two-year break, with a line-up that includes Burna Boy, Trippie Redd and the hip-hop show “Eixo Norte-Sul”.
Like so many other music festivals, Sumol Summer Fest did not take place in 2020 or 2021, due to the restrictions imposed by the fight against the covid-19 pandemic. After a forced break, the festival returns to Camping Ericeira with a line-up that includes concerts, but also dance classes and performances.
On the first day of the festival’s 12th edition, Friday, Mobbers, Riot, T-Rex, Piruka, IAMDDB and Burna Boy perform on the main stage.
In the secondary stage, Cíntia, Mike el Nite and Von Di are scheduled, the latter two on a DJ set.
On the second day, Phoenix RDC, Lon3r Johnny, Nenny, the show “Eixo Norte-Sul” and Burna Boy take the main stage of Sumol Summer Fest RDD.
“Axis North-South”, highlights the organization, will show “the best that is being done in urban music in the North and South of the country”.
The ‘north team’, led by Mundo Segundo, includes rappers Maze, Ace, Deau and Virtus and DJ Guze and Spot. The ‘South Team’, led by Xeg, includes ‘rappers’ Chullage, Sir Scratch, Kappa Jota, Deezy and DJ Big.
The show will be divided into two parts, in the first part “there will be a single rule to follow: have a stage in which all the members of the team can participate”, with the aim of “creating unique moments, based on original songs from the participants, or even exploring new rhymes and ‘rhythms’
The second part of the show features the two teams together on stage.
However, “to mark this very special moment”, the song “Eixo Norte-Sul” was made available online, bringing together all the artists involved in the show.
On the secondary stage, on the second day of the Russa festival, Shaka Lion and Flaca, the last two on DJ ‘set’.
Each day of the festival, Jazzy Dance Camp will present two blocks of classes, in kuduro, Brazilian funk, dance hall and hip hop, among other styles, followed by performances by the ‘crews’ (groups) Jazzy Dance Crew, Lil Malaikes and wrestlers from Soujah.
According to the organization, tickets purchased for the 2020 or 2021 editions are valid for the 2022 edition, without the need to exchange or issue a new ticket.
Two-day passes can be purchased with a camping option.
