When NASA-launched spacecraft reaches the moon

NASA provided updated information about the Artemis 1 spacecraft after its successful launch Wednesday morning. All systems “exceed expectations in terms of performance,” according to Jim Geffer, the ship’s integration manager.

The purpose of “Artemis-1” is to verify that the crew ship can safely deliver astronauts to the Earth’s satellite.

The agency expects Artemis-1 to reach the Moon on November 21. Occasionally, it will fly at a height of just over 130 kilometers above the lunar surface. “We’re going to go over some of the Apollo landing sites., said flight director Jeff Radigan. Within four days, NASA plans to perform a second launch to put the mission into a distant orbit around the moon, and then put the spacecraft on its return flight path to Earth. If all goes according to plan, the ship will land in the Pacific Ocean on December 11.
