Scientists have already presented a new space elevator project. It is assumed that it will be possible to easily reach Mars and even the Moon.
A space elevator project was presented at the 2022 International Symposium on the Peaceful Use of Space Technologies to Improve Human Health. It will allow rapid movement of both materials and personnel into space.
Thanks to a long cable that will extend from Earth to other planets, it will be possible to reach Mars in 61 days.
The movement speed of the elevator car is expected to be approximately 200 km/h. And the weight of this device will be equal to 20 tons.
Experts expect that with the help of an elevator it will be possible to enter a geosynchronous orbit in 8 days, to the Moon – in 14 days, to Mars – in 61 days.
Scientists hope the space elevator can be launched as early as 2035. But it will still need to be tested to make sure it’s fit for human transport. Therefore, people will start using it around 2045.
