“Marcel!” by Jasmine Trinca wins the Jury Prize at the 16th Italian Film Festival

The feature film “Marcel!”, by Jasmine Trinca, won the Jury Prize at the 16th Italian Film Festival, which ended this Thursday in Lisbon and also distinguished “L’ombra del giorno”, by Giuseppe Piccioni, with the Audience Award.

The jury of this edition, made up of the director Ana Rocha de Sousa, the actress Íris Cayatte and the critic Rui Pedro Tendinha, considered that Jasmine Trinca’s film “stands out for the strength of a unique cinematographic look and for the magical work of the protagonists Alba Rohrwacher and Mayane Conti”.

“Marcel!” marks the debut of Jasmice Trinca in feature films. The actress’s first film as a director was the short film “Ser mamá” in 2020.

In this edition, the film with the most votes, and therefore winner of the Audience Award, has been “L’ombra del giorno”, by Giuseppe Piccioni.

The winners of the 16th Lisbon Italian Film Festival were announced this Thursday night at the closing session of the festival, at Cinema São Jorge.
