At a certain moment in up there, Mrs. Kim (Lee Hye-yeong), a building owner who prefers to present herself as a designer and who spends much of her time examining the lives of her tenants, is talking to a director friend (Hae-hyo Kwon) and a tenant, Jiyoung (Yun-hee Cho). Kim becomes annoying by asking, insistently, which movies of her friend’s director Jiyoung really like. The question always comes out differently, it is insistent and Jiyoung tries to get away with answers like “all the movies” or divert the topic, making it more complete.
Mrs. Kim’s drawback takes on a certain humor because it’s the kind of thing you sometimes want to do but, out of politeness, hold back: pressuring someone to specify something because they’re obviously lying. Jiyoung’s response, whether off-topic or not, changes the tone of the conversation and forces the three of them to explore something more interesting about the movie-watching experience: emotions.
