Exclusive Video: Activists, Israel’s ‘Apartheid State’ and Palestine’s Struggle Against ‘Capitalism, Homophobia and Sexism’

Pro-Palestinian and socialist activists gathered in London at the weekend to denounce Israel’s so-called “apartheid state” as well as many Western evils, including capitalism, colonialism, homophobia, racism and sexism.

To commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Nakba, a phrase used by Palestinians and other Muslims to refer to the “disaster” of the creation of the Jewish state of Israel, thousands of activists marched from the BBC’s headquarters in central London to Downing Street. On Saturday, slogans such as “Israel is a terrorist state” and “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” were chanted, calling for arms to the Palestinians to destroy their ancestral homeland, the State of Israel and its people.

Speaking in front of 10 Downing Street, Labor MP Zara Sultana said that Israel “is an apartheid state and we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about it.”

A Pakistani-born aide to former far-left Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, Sultana has been accused of allowing antisemitism to flare up within the left-wing party she led. She implements the apartheid system, which is a system of oppression against the Palestinians.

And this is despite the fact that – as stated in response to a report by a group of Jews in the United States – the Palestinians are equal before the law in Israel and in the coalition of the Jewish state government, including the party of Arab Muslim countries. .

Comparing Israel to South Africa’s apartheid regime, which did not grant equal rights to blacks from the 1940s to the 1990s, the far left MP continued: “Let’s not forget that there was a time when apartheid seemed unshakable . . . and the day when it came to an end seemed incredible. When there were advocates of apartheid in Downing Street. He had military strength and strong allies, but those chains were broken and apartheid fell.”

“South Africa will see the end of apartheid like Palestine and it will be defeated in Palestine.”

Farah Kuteine, another spokesperson for the London Center for Palestine Return, argued that all alleged oppressed groups should “stand up” and unite around the Palestinian goal against the Palestinian state.

The Palestinian struggle is against settler colonialism, racism, sexism, homophobia, capitalism and classism.

Kuteineh compared the Palestinian goal to communist Cuba, Native Americans, “united Ireland” and “climate disaster”.

“Our oppressors are united, why aren’t we? We must stand up for all the oppressed, otherwise we may be prejudiced against our oppressors.”

Another main theme of the protest was the shooting death of Al Jazeera reporter Shirin Abu Akle, who was killed in the clash between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Islamist terrorists in the West Bank-controlled city of Jenin, Israel.

Sultana and others accused Israeli forces of killing a Palestinian-American journalist. However, it is not yet known who fired the gun that killed Abu Akle. Israel has requested access to the ammunition to determine if it was fired from an IDF weapon, but so far the Palestinian authorities have refused to provide the ammunition.

Speakers at the London rally also condemned Israel for the widely publicized clash between IDF soldiers and several people carrying Abu Akle’s coffin at the funeral of a murdered Al Jazeera reporter |

Israel has argued He said that those who brought the coffin actually removed it from the body, despite the wishes of the victim’s family, and attacked the IDF officers who tried to return the body with glass bottles and other objects.
