On CNN’s Don Lemon Tonight on Monday, Rep. Nikema Williams (D&D.) Primary Georgia “a record” turnout “doesn’t mean there isn’t yet an action to limit voting rights”. He also argued that “we don’t need to pave the way for the suppression of voters” and said he would do everything he could so that voters had the information they needed about changes in the law and could vote. ”
“Just because we’re seeing record turnout doesn’t mean that nothing has been done to limit voting,” Williams said. “Some of these voters are voters who usually vote on Election Day but don’t know what the new rules are or how they affect them, some vote early. But there’s always a voter. We say that while we don’t have to organize a suppression process, we will do everything we can to ensure that voters get the information they need and still be informed about changes in the law. After all, our goal is to continue to give people the information they need so that everyone can vote. And Republicans continue to restrict access to the ballot. The law they passed, SB 202, has clearly changed the way people access ballots. And even if we look at all these races in the state, we’re going to have a second round. The runoff time is now shorter, just three weeks, and you won’t have a chance to register to vote until the second round ”
