“Zelensky doesn’t want to hear that,” Biden said while saying Russia would attack.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Speaking to donors at a Democratic fundraiser, President Joe Biden said “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky doesn’t want to hear it,” as he gathered US intelligence that Russia was preparing to attack.

The comments came as Biden talked about his efforts to rally and support Ukraine, which entered the war in its fourth month.

“This hasn’t happened since WWII. I know a lot of people think I’m overreacting. But I know we have data proving that it will be accepted abroad, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“There’s no doubt about it,” Biden said. “And Zelensky doesn’t want to hear it.”

While Zelensky inspired people with his leadership during the war, his preparations for—or lack of—aggression remained controversial.

In the weeks before the war in February. On January 24, Zelenskiy protested after Biden administration officials had repeatedly warned of the high possibility of a Russian invasion.

At the time, Zelensky was also worried that the drums of war would shake Ukraine’s fragile economy.
