This note mentions that the Summer University is an initiative promoted jointly by the PSD, the JSD, the Francisco Sá Carneiro Institute and the European Savings Party (PPE), which has been carried out since 2003.

The next edition will take place”for a week, from August 29 to September 4in a day of intensive studies” with the participation of “a selection of young professionals with high potential and a group of high-quality trainers and speakers working together”.

“Candidacies are open to militants of the JSD, young PSD cadres and independents who, in the municipalities, in the student movement, or in any other activity of social intervention, have strengthened their efforts with our party, preferably in the fringe of age between those involved. 18 and 30 years, “reads the note.

As a rule, the leaders of the PSD speak at the closing of the Summer University, which usually takes place in Castelo de Vide, Portalegre, but was canceled in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and in 2021 it did not take place either. the same reason.

The new president of the PSD, Luís Montenegro, elected on May 28, promised during the internal campaign to return to the traditional Festa do Pontal, in mid-August, in the Algarve.

Luís Montenegro obtained 72.5% of the votes in the direct vote on May 28, in which he faced Jorge Moreira da Silva, and will take office as president at the 40th Congress of the PSD, replacing Rui Rio, who heads the party since January 2018.
