Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) told CNN’s “Situation Room” on Wednesday that the death threats he and other lawmakers received at the January 6 hearing showed the evil there. ”
Host Wolf Blitzer said: “I know you reported that you and your family directly received a disturbing death threat over the weekend. Do these threats continue? Are you among the members currently receiving protection?”
Kinzinger said, “So, I’ll tell you the threats have been constant. They have multiplied. Even just this morning, last night, I heard a death-threatening voicemail. It seems normal now. We’re just threatening to be shot. But that’s why I posted this letter. Straight to my house, straight to my wife. And he threatened murder, not just for me, but for him and my five-month-old baby. And I think it’s important to show the evil of what’s out there.”
He added: “So look, they’re all getting these threats. I mean, especially Liz and I, because we’re considered RINOs in the Republican Party because we want the truth. But what it shows is that when you say evil, when you bring light into a dark place, roaches get angry and scatter. “You will see. And we bring light. We bring the truth to the lies that many people think of and that will not make them happy.”
