Raskin: Jan 6 investigation gets ‘constant stream of new evidence’

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Thursday in a special MSNBC report to the committee’s Jan. 6 selection committee that the investigation has received “an ongoing stream of new evidence.”

Raskin said: “We are really shocked by the constant stream of new evidence as new people come in. I can tell you, at least for the part I was working on with Congressman Murphy, there’s a lot of new evidence that I’ve been reviewing this weekend. ”

When asked about members of Congress seeking clemency from then-President Donald Trump, Raskin replied, “The power to punish has actually degenerated when it has been removed from the jurisdiction of the Justice Department and has become merely an instrument of the president’s political will. Or the president’s political corruption. I think what we see today is the general As a result, it is the President’s attempt to subdue the Justice Department and his own officials. Remember, these are the people he put in. These are not the liberal people of the deep state. They are his own men. He wanted it so badly that even they didn’t accept it. In their aim to overthrow the election, they simply rely on their political corruption. He tried to suppress and subdue them in order to become a tool.”
