White House spokesman John Kirby announced that the United States would send Ukraine a new $450 million in military aid, including additional missile systems, to use against Russian forces.

He explained that “this package includes armaments and equipment, including HIMARS systems, in addition to thousands of ammunition and missiles, as well as patrol boats,” noting that this adds “about $6.1 billion” to the total cost. military aid, which will be Washington gave it to Kyiv from the very beginning of the war with Russia.

HIMARS missile systems are at the top of the list of requirements of the Ukrainian leadership, especially since Russian troops are making great strides in the east of the country, supported by heavy artillery, which gives them an advantage on the battlefield.

The United States actually delivered four HIMARS to Ukraine initially in preparation for launching the training program needed for Ukrainian soldiers to effectively use these advanced and precision missile launchers.
