Montenegro calls the rioistas to the bench in the name of unity

Luís Montenegro continues to strive to get closer to the heirs of Rioismo. after having chosen Joaquin Miranda Sarmento for the leader of the PSD parliamentary caucus, the former deputy general secretary and the man close to Rio, Hugo Carneiro, will be promoted to vice president of the parliamentary group. In addition to Paulo Ríos Oliveira and Paula Cardoso —of whom the Observer had already said that he would continue under the direction of Mota Pinto—, there are two other rioistas in the same situation: catarina rocha ferreira Y Ricardo Batista Leite. In total, out of 10 vice presidents, at least five were from Rio de Janeiro in the direct elections in November, to which the leader of the bench himself is added.

However, in addition to Joaquim Miranda Sarmento’s team, there are three other followers of Rui Rio, who did not pass the scrutiny of the current PSD leadership: André Coelho Lima, Hugo Carvalho and Fátima Ramos. In addition to the rioistas, the new leadership of the bench will include, as the Observer already announced on Thursday, names such as the leader of the JSD, Alexander Pocomontenegrin Andrea Netthe former mayor of Espinho, Joaquin Pinto Moreiraor the president of the district of Santarém, Joao Moura. With the permanence of Batista Leite, Miguel Santos loses space to occupy the health portfolio, but he must be invited to be part of the leadership, which includes “deputies” and secretaries.

The idea of the Miranda Sarmento/Montenegro duo is to have a person in charge for each committee: 10 vice presidents and four secretaries. In Mota Pinto’s leadership there were only 7 vice presidents and two secretaries, but now there are five more members in the leadership. Playing with this distribution of positions, to which are added those of coordinator and vice-coordinator of the party in the committees, it is expected that Joaquim Miranda Sarmento will have a comfortable vote (at least above 70/80%). The list will be delivered on Monday and the vote will take place on July 13.
