Police were reportedly agitated Monday as they pleaded with a group of climate change protesters to block a Maryland parole.
On July 4, climate change protesters wearing yellow vests completely blocked traffic on the I-495 beltway in Montgomery County, Maryland to demand that President Joe Biden declare a “climate emergency.” In a video that has since gone viral, a man claiming to be on parole got out of his car and begged protesters to let him go, saying he would be sent back to jail if he was caught at work.
When the activists refused to move, the man desperately pleaded, “I want one lane, one lane.”
The man then began to grab the signs from the hands of the protesters, who continued to block the movement. Let’s see:

Another video shared by documentary filmmaker Ford Fisher showed that police later arrested the man after he was “harassed by activists blocking the movement,” and that he had “become more physically fit,” according to Fisher. Police first arrested the parolee and are reportedly “in no hurry” to arrest the protesters.
Police were slow to prepare to arrest the protesters who blocked the highway, but warned drivers not to attack the protesters.

Fox 4 DC reported that 13 climate protesters were arrested on charges of “resisting arrest, disturbing the peace/interfering with traffic, and violating a reasonable/legal order.” The man, allegedly a “counter protester”, was also reportedly charged with “second-degree assault and resisting arrest”. Guido Reichstadter, who allegedly was one of the protesters, defended on Twitter, saying he did not intimidate the man and was happy to “make a statement or testify on his behalf”.
“The shirtless man pushing me with his body showed no aggression towards me and I was not afraid. I believe there is no need to arrest him and I would be happy to testify or testify on his behalf. The lives of thousands of millions of people are now dependent on urgent action to combat climate change,” Reichstadter wrote in a deleted tweet. said.
