Watch: Anne Tekle Nearly Kills Sandberg in Anger at BLM Protest

Arabella Yarbrough, mother of two, who was nearly killed by Andrew “Tekle” Sandberg before being shot by Minneapolis police snipers last week, was caught in anger by Black Lives Matter (BLM) protesters after she was searched by another group. victim of police brutality.

Last Wednesday, 20-year-old Andrew “Tekle” Sandberg allegedly shot at Yarbrough’s apartment where he lived with his two children. After successfully escorting him and his family out of the apartment complex, the police later shot him again. The incident led to a six-hour standoff in which Tekle refused to speak to the negotiators, despite his father, Mark Sandberg, begging him to break the silence on the radio. The episode ended sadly when Tekle was killed by Minneapolis police snipers.

Tekle’s parents, who adopted Tekle from Ethiopia at the age of four, said their son had suffered a mental breakdown and believed the police could have done more to alleviate the situation. BLM activists have since defended her case, and a march has been held in her honor near the apartment complex where police shot her on Saturday. But Yarbrough believes protesters faked a martyrdom from Tekle, and angered those present on Saturday for their lack of sympathy for his plight.

“Shake it off. Sorrow in silence,” Yarbrough enraged the protesters, some shouting at him and telling him to “shut up.”

“This is not the case with George Floyd. George Floyd is unarmed,” he added. “This man is armed. George Floyd was unarmed. Breonna Taylor is unarmed. Chief Locke was armed and possessed his own weapons, but when he was licensed to carry and kill him, they broke into his house. He didn’t fire. This man deliberately tried to kill us.”

Yarbrough told Fox 9 that “while he has only five minutes to live, he has six hours to choose life and death.”

Before the fatal incident, Yarbrough said Tekle often played loud music from his apartment and “harassed, threatened” him.

Despite his anger, Sandberg’s family believe it was unfair to kill their son because of his skin color.

“My heart goes out to this woman (Yarbrough). “He had a very traumatic event when the bullets passed through his house,” he said.

“We can handle both. We can empathize with this woman, but also remember that Tekle needs to be with us and live, and we can ask the Minneapolis Police Department to do better,” said Sandberg family attorney Jeff Storms.

Renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump described Tekle as a “loving and artistic 20-year-old” who had suffered a “mental health crisis”.
