Fátima Madureira, president of the Agency for Administrative Modernization since October 2020 and Fernando Medina’s chief of staff at the Lisbon City Council, will be the new vice president of Estamo, the state real estate company.
The news was advanced this Thursday by Eco, who adds that the appointment, by the Minister of Finance, has already been approved by the Public Administration Recruitment and Selection Commission.
“Dr. Fátima Madureira, upon finishing her duties as President of the Agency for Administrative Modernization [AMA]he will exercise the functions of vice-president of Estamo”, an official source from the ministry told that newspaper.
This appointment comes less than two months after António Furtado, former director of the Asset Management area of the Lisbon Chamber during Medina’s presidency, assumed the presidency of Estamo, a public company currently responsible for managing around 1,000 million euros in real estate.
With a degree in History, Eco recapitulates, Fátima Madureira began working in the municipality of Lisbon in 1981, from where she left in 1990 to be assistant to the general secretary of the Union of Portuguese-Speaking Capitals, and where she returned seven years later to stay for the next 23 years.
At the Lisbon City Council, the next Estamo vice president served as head of the Tourist Promotion and Information Division; director of the Department of Tourism of the Municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; director of the Brand and Communication department; and municipal director of Mobility and Transport. In October 2017, he took over as Fernando Medina’s chief of staff.
