Climate activist Steven Spielberg’s private jet burned $116,000 worth of fuel in just two months

Senior director Steven Spielberg’s private jet has reportedly burned more than $116,000 in jet fuel since June. This is despite the fact that a staunch member of the Hollywood elite has warned farmers of an impending climate catastrophe.

New York Post Spielberg’s $70 million Gulfstream G650 jet has chewed up jet fuel during 16 flights spanning nearly 17,000 miles since June 23, leaving a huge carbon footprint in the process.

The numbers show flight tracking data from ADS-B Exchange and compiled by the Celebrity Jets database.

The Celebrity Jets Twitter account shares details of celebrities’ private jet flights. July 19, 2022 marks Spielberg’s short 56-minute flight from Massachusetts to New Jersey.

While Hollywood members have long been outspoken in their demands that the rest of society save the world, they also show a more nuanced desire to do the same in their personal lives.

They all support active climate action by refusing commercial flights.

According to Breitbart News, Spielberg was recently ranked sixth on the list of celebrities who prefer to fly their own private jets over commercially available options.

Spielberg is equally guilty, according to a study by Yard, a sustainable marketing agency that compiles “up-to-date data” on celebrities with “worst private jet CO2 emissions” in 2022.

“The legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg ranks sixth on the list, making 61 flights this year and emitting 4,465 tons of CO2 from his private jet.” However, Spielberg is the second longest average flight time on this list at 107.31 minutes, or about an hour and 47 minutes. “

Kylie Jenner, Taylor Swift, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Wahlberg have faced similar criticism for their frequent short trips on multimillion-dollar jets.

In 2016, Leonardo DiCaprio reported Fly 8,000 miles in a private jet From Europe to New York to receive an award for their environmental activism. He later returned to Europe to attend a charity event.

That same year, DiCaprio took a private jet to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. At the summit, the WEF awarded DiCaprio the “Crystal Award” for his “leadership in tackling the climate crisis”.

Wikileaks revealed that in 2014 the actor flew six round trips in a private jet over six weeks, all financed by Sony.

Spielberg never ceases to advise others to be mindful of their actions and how they affect the climate when choosing to fly a private jet.

“Global warming is a scientific fact. This is not a political maneuver. “This is a real piece of real, measurable, measurable science,” Spielberg said in an interview in 2018. “People have to come to the conclusion – if we don’t do something about it now, we have to face fate.”

He added that “everyone should be held accountable” for their role in climate change.

“You know when you don’t remember something that could be dangerous for your children and grandchildren?” said Spielberg.

“Then you live recklessly with aerosol cans and do all sorts of things that deplete the ozone layer.”
