Duarte Pacheco is one of the most experienced deputies and has several budget processes under his belt. The position of the PS in the absolute majority leaves him “little optimistic” about the ability of the PSD to influence the State Budget for 2023, but he says that with Fernando Medina “it is possible to have results.”
The coordinator of the PSD in the Budget and Finance Commission says that it is essential to know the government’s accounts on inflation and tax revenue “before the debate in general” to avoid “a conversation of the deaf.”
Regarding parliamentary life, Duarte Pacheco warns of the risk of not electing Chega’s ‘vice president’ to the table of the Assembly of the Republic: “We are opening a door where in the future there will also be difficulties in electing vice presidents to the left”.
