Joaquim Pinto Moreiram, deputy on the PSD bench, stood up last week for the referendum project presented by the Social Democrats and whose admission was rejected in Parliament. With accusations of a “marriage of convenience” between the PS and Chega, the PSD deputy criticizes the Socialists for “having claimed ownership of the voice of the Portuguese.”
In an interview with Observer, on the “Sofá doParlament” program, the vice president of the PSD parliamentary group says that if the Constitutional Court again raises doubts about the euthanasia diploma, the issue of the referendum will be discussed again.
Also last week, Pinto Moreira was appointed president of the Constitutional Review Commission. The Social Democrat believes that it will be possible to achieve a “solid and improved Portuguese democratic system”, leaving much praise for his fellow bench member, André Coelho Lima, until months ago Rui Rio’s vice president.
