Latvian Foreign Minister Edgar Rinkevich has signed a decree banning the entry into Latvia of the president of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and of the famous Russian national team coach Irina Viner-Usmanova.

The decision to ban entry into Latvia, in addition to Irina Viner-Osmanova, from Monday, also included Russian singer Philip Kirkorov and artists Vladimir Vinokur and Yevgeny Petrosyan.

Edgar Rinkevich wrote on his Twitter account: “Based on paragraph 2 of Article 61 of the Migration Code, I decided to include the citizens of the Russian Federation, Philip Kirkorov, Vladimir Vinokur, Yevgeny Petrosyan and Irina Viner-Usmanova in the list of non desirable. people in the territory of the Republic of Latvia, they are prohibited from entering indefinitely ”.

Previously, Russian gymnasts were suspended from competitions organized under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), and the Latvian parliament adopted amendments to the Law on Sports, which prohibits local teams, athletes and staff from compete in tournaments held in Russia or Belarus. .
