Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneni, a player in the Egyptian national team, has confirmed that his stay in the ranks of the Gunners does not depend on him, but on the leadership.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Elnany said: “I used to say that if Arsenal want me, it’s my team and my family, but that’s not my decision.”

He added: “Ever since I arrived, I felt like I was at the center of my family, that’s how we really work, Arsenal are a great club.”

And about his outstanding performance in recent matches: “I have always believed in myself, I have to let the coach do his job and respect his decisions, he always does what the team needs.”

He continued: “When you play well and the fans see you, you feel the change, I’m very proud when I hear something good about myself.”

On Champions League qualification: “We talked to each other after Thursday’s match. Tottenham’s defeat is a thing of the past. Our goal is to beat Newcastle. It will be a very difficult match but we are a strong team so we need to prepare well.”

He concluded by saying: “I am sure that we will qualify for the Champions League, so everything is in our hands and we have to rely on ourselves.”
