Al Hikma achieved their goal this season after managing to stay in the top division by winning the last round at Al Safa 1-0, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the Lebanese Cup, and narrowly advancing in front of Nejmeh, who will play next month’s Final against Al Ansar in the Lebanese Football Derby.

Al Hikma Club captain Ahmed Atwi confirmed that the team achieved what was required of them this season, that is, they stayed in the first division, praising the work done by the players and technical staff in light of the many difficulties they faced , and intense competition with the Al-Ahli Brotherhood and His Highness.

In an interview with the e-newspaper Al-Sport, Atwi said: “We have had some difficulties this season as it is our first since returning to the first division, but that is normal and the players have proven that they are at their best. responsibility and believed in ourselves until the last stage, and in the end we reached our goal, the Natural place of wisdom among adults.

Atwi added: “Al Hikma Club entered the season with one goal: to stay in the first division, so we are completely satisfied with our season. It is true that we were late in resolving issues due to the circumstances we went through and the intensity of the competition. with calmness and brotherhood, but we achieved what we wanted, from now on we have to think about the next season.”

He continued: “Al Hikma is an ancient club with a history and a fan base and the ambition for next season should be more than just staying in the big leagues.”

Next season, Atwi will take on the task of coaching the Abbasid Sports Club, which has been promoted from the third division to the second.

As for next season, Atwi confirmed he would stay with Al Hikma as a player despite taking on the task of coaching Al Abbasiya.

In this regard, Atwi said: “It may seem difficult as I have to coordinate my time as a player with Al Hikma and my time as a manager with Al Abbasiya, but it is an important experience and I looking forward to it. and we’ll see how things go at the start of next season.”

Atwi concluded: “We hope that conditions in Lebanon will improve at all levels because it will help us improve the reality of football in Lebanon, hoping that the coming seasons will be better, better and more successful than previous seasons.”
