Miguel Oliveira in 19th place after free practice at the Catalunya GP

The Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) finished this Friday in 19th position after the first two free practice sessions of the MotoGP Catalunya Grand Prix, the ninth race of the Motorcycle World Championship.

The Portuguese KTM rider set his best lap in the afternoon session, in 1.40.821 minutesfinishing 1,419 seconds behind the fastest of the day, the Spanish Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia).

Also Spanish Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) was second, 0.303 seconds behind his teammate, and Italian Enea Bastianini (Ducati), third, 0.488 seconds behind.

In the first session, Miguel Oliveira had been eighth while Spaniard Alex Rins (Suzuki) topped the timesheets.

But with the rise in temperature in the afternoon session, the times ended up going down. The Portuguese driver still improved by 0.080 seconds, but not enough to move from 19th place in the combined table.

In this way, Miguel Oliveira will also have the opportunity to fight for a place among the ten fastest in the third free practice session, which takes place on Saturday morning, and thus get a direct pass to the second qualifying phase (Q2 ) of Saturday. .
