Brazilian defender Gleason Bremer announced his departure from the Italian club during the summer transfer window amid strong interest from some clubs looking to sign him this summer.
Bremer won the title of best defender in the Italian league last season, while he was associated with several clubs, led by Inter Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur.
Bremer told ESPN: “I spoke to the coach and told him I wanted to leave, but he told me, ‘Stay with us this season and you can leave next season.’
“I want to play in the Champions League and play at a much higher level, it’s just a matter of time, I’m considering some offers but I don’t think I’ll be in Turin next season.”
Representing the Brazilian national team, he commented: “My dream is to play for the Brazilian national team, but since I came to Italy, I have been welcomed with open arms.”
Inter Milan are closest to signing Bremer this summer after talks between the two sides have reached an advanced stage.
