The Lebanese women’s basketball team (under 16) received the first defeat at the Asian Championship (level “B”), which takes place in the “Prince Hamza” hall in the Jordanian capital Amman, against their Iranian colleague with difficulty, by one point, and with the result (50-51). The results of the quarters were in favor of Iran: (17-12), (29-25), (43-34) and (51-50). The Cedars team was ahead (50-45) with three minutes and 20 seconds left in the match, but the Iranian team managed to add 6 points in the deadly time of the match, while the Lebanese failed to score any points.

Rice’s defeat against the Iranian team came after their victory on the first day over Kazakhstan (59-47).

Nour El-Labban (13 points) became the top scorer of the Lebanese national team.

Lebanon will play their third match of the first round against Jordan at 6 pm on Sunday.

There are eight countries participating in the “B” level tournament, which are divided into two groups as follows:

The first group: Indonesia, Syria, Samoa and the Philippines.

The second group: Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Jordan and Iran.

The first place team in the tournament will qualify for the ‘A’ level, knowing that the ‘B’ level championship coincides with the establishment of the Asian Championship for the ‘A’ level, which includes 8 countries plus Jordan.
