Tunisian tennis player Anas Jaber expressed her joy that she was able to reach the final of Wimbledon, becoming the first Arab woman in history.

The Tunisian champion for the first time reached the final of one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, beating the German Tatiana Maria in two sets against the group with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

Jaber said in statements after the match, “I don’t know what to say, this is a dream come true after years of work and sacrifice. I’m happy because I’ll play one more match.”

And about her rival from Germany, Tatjana Maria, Jaber confirmed: “In the end, I wanted to share this moment with her, because she is an inspiration to many people, including myself, after I gave birth to two children, I I can’t believe how she did it.”

She added: “Physically Tatiana is a monster, she thought she would give up but she didn’t and she sent him and everything on the court is impressive, I hope it stays that way.”

She concluded: “As a Tunisian woman, I am proud to stand up. I’m just trying to inspire as much as possible, see more Arab and African players at this level and be on the main court one day.”
