The curtain fell on the African Handball Championship of Nations, in which the Egyptian team won at the expense of Cape Verde, beating them in the final with a score of 37-25.

Yehia Khaled of the Egyptian national team and Hungarian club Fezprim won the best right back and best player of the tournament awards, while Aurélien Chitumbi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was the tournament’s top scorer.

The awards for the best representatives of the African nations were as follows:

Best goalkeeper: Ali Laroussi (Morocco)
Best right winger: Hisham El Hakimi (Morocco)
Best right back: Yehia Khaled (Egypt)
Best left back: Ali Zein (Egypt)


Best Playmaker: Leandro Semedo (Cap Verde)
Best left winger: Omar El-Wakil Bakkar (Egypt)
Best Chain Player: Jehad Jaballah (Tunisia)
Best Player of the Tournament: Yehia Khaled (Egypt)
Top scorer: Aurelien Chitumbi (DR Congo)

Egypt will also host the next African Nations Championship scheduled for January 2024.
