Fuad Naga, president of the Sudanese national club Khartoum, expressed regret over the team’s relegation for the first time in 25 years in the Premier League, the main competition of the Sudanese Football Association.
The Khartoum national team said goodbye to the Premier League for the first time in the history of the club since the founding of the championship, which regularly participated in its sessions, after a draw between Al Amal and Cooper in the 28th round. Sudanese League and the team’s two-goal loss to Hilal Al-Fasher: one to stop their tally in last place with 23 points with two rounds to go in the competition.
In statements to the Al-Bayan newspaper, Naga confirmed that he bears full responsibility as president of the club under the conditions of relegation.
He attributed the reasons for the club’s collapse after he became president on the current board, and that economic conditions played the most prominent role in the club’s achievements.
The president of the Khartoum club has called for a concerted effort and the return of the sons of the club to rally around the team again so it can return to its normal position among Premier League clubs.
