According to a source close to the talks, French football champions Paris Saint-Germain and German side Leipzig have reached an agreement on the transfer of French national team defender Nordi Muquele to the Parisian club.

Both parties entered into a definitive deal, not a credit deal with a call option as mentioned at the beginning. The 24-year-old remains to undergo a scheduled medical before signing a contract with Saint-Germain.
The arrival of this defender, who made his first step in Paris and then moved to Laval, Montpellier and then Leipzig in 2018, will allow the Qatari Parisian club to get more decisions in the right arcade where the national team plays in Morocco Ashraf Hakimi. Mokele can also play in a three-man defence, the system favored by new Paris coach Christophe Galtier, who replaced Argentinean Mauricio Pochettino.
Mokele became the third player to join the French champions in the summer transfer market, after Portuguese midfielder Venezia from Porto and young French striker Hugo Eketiki (20) from Rennes.
At domestic level, Mokele helped Leipzig finish runners-up in the German champions in 2021 and win the cup last season, and also shined on the European stage, reaching the semi-finals of the 2020 Champions League and 2022 Europa League competition.
This move is also a good opportunity for Mokele to pick up a possible option with the Roosters before the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (November 21-December 18).
Mokele, who hails from Montreuil, in the Paris region, wore his country’s jersey in a 2-0 orphans friendly match against Finland on September 7, 2021 in Lyon, as part of European qualification for the 2022 World Cup, and reached the final of the meeting.
