‘Let the unborn child be born’: Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh doubles down on pro-life stance

Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh refused to back down after abortion supporters were outraged by his pro-life comments last week.

Harbaugh on July 17 at St. John is in Plymouth, Michigan, where he says America needs more respect and courtesy in political debate, especially when it comes to abortion. .

“I believe I have the courage to allow the unborn to be born. I love life. I believe in loving care and respect for life and death. My faith and my science drive those beliefs in me,” Harbaugh said in his speech.

The comments angered the left, who criticized Harbaugh for his views on life over the next week.

But Harbaugh won’t be afraid of social media pressure. She told ESPN this weekend that she continues to encourage family members and actors to continue the pregnancy, even if it wasn’t planned.

“I said [them] It’s the same thing I say to my children, boys, girls, same thing I say to our players, to our staff. “If they have an unplanned pregnancy, I advise them to have it reviewed, passed,” Harbaugh said on Saturday. “Let this unborn child be born and if you feel like you can’t take care of him at the time, if you don’t have the means or the money, then Sarah and I will take this child.”

“Faith, family, football… these are my priorities. I just… I think the abortion issue is big enough to be discussed. We need a serious talk. What do you think? what do I think What do others think? The teacher continued.

“This is a matter of life and death. I believe and respect people’s opinions. Let’s listen to them,” he added. Let’s talk about this because there is passion on both sides about it. So when you combine it with respect, the best results will be achieved. … [I’m] It’s just to facilitate this conversation and this communication, which I think is really important.”

“Any player on our team, any female staff member or any staff member or anyone in our family or extended family… baby, give us a big house. Let’s raise this kid.”

Critics should not be surprised that Harbaugh fought for his life. His views on abortion are well known and he has commented on the subject many times. For example, he praised people for being worried about their lives during the coronavirus panic in 2020. But he added, “You see that people are above the sanctity of life. And I hope it goes well. I hope this continues and not just during a crisis or pandemic.”

Wolverine football restarts on September 3 at home against Colorado State.
