Former Argentine coach of Paris Saint-Germain Mauricio Pochettino revealed the reason for his departure from the Paris team at the end of last season.
“At Paris Saint-Germain everything is focused on the Champions League, they are obsessed with winning this competition,” Pochettino said.
He continued: In a year and a half we won the League, the Cup and the Super Cup, but failed in the Champions League, and if it was a failure, they failed 50 years ago because they did not achieve the title.
“Sometimes the focus in the Champions League is a bit of a distraction from other goals,” he added.
He concluded: “At Paris Saint-Germain, anything less than winning the Champions League is a failure for any manager and that is the reason I left. The world, and I think with all the resources available to the club, they convinced Kylian stay.”
