The ideal squad for the European Women’s Championship 2022 announced by the European Football Association included four players from England and five from Germany as runners-up.

The English won the European Championship for the first time in their history, beating Germany 2-1 in the final.

The team included England striker Beth Mead, who was named the best player of the tournament, as well as midfielder Kyra Walsh, defender Leah Williamson and goalkeeper Mary Earps.

Germany’s ideal squad also included Bob and striker Clara Ball, defensive duo Julia Gwen and Marina Hegering, and midfielder Lena Oberdorf, who was named the best young player of the tournament.

French defender Sucaina Kershaoui, of Moroccan origin, has been included in the ideal squad for the 2022 UEFA Women’s European Championship after showing an outstanding level in the tournament alongside Spanish midfielder Etana Bonmatti.
