France coach Didier Deschamps once again expressed his confidence that Paul Pogba will play a prominent role with the Roosters at the 2022 World Cup, despite his absence from the field at the beginning of the new season due to injury.

Pogba suffered from knee problems during Juventus’ preparations for the new season as he was expected to undergo surgery, but opted for medical treatment over surgery, and Kante has also suffered from injury problems in recent seasons.

Of the pair, Deschamps told Le Parisien: “They are two outstanding players with a lot of experience and leadership skills.”

“Presence is important for them, but nothing is guaranteed,” he added.

And he continued: “Of course, I will communicate with Pogba, his participation in the World Cup is not negotiable.”

On the other hand, Deschamps has confirmed that Griezmann is an important part of his plans despite only scoring 3 goals in La Liga last season.

Deschamps said: “Grismann has had busy seasons and has come to terms with his physical problems at the start of the year and he has moved from one team to another and he may have been affected by external circumstances as well.”
