Saudi club Al Taawon have reportedly given Egyptian midfielder Mustafa Fathi a deadline to return and join the team’s training camp in the Netherlands camp, according to press reports.
And Al-Riyadh newspaper sources indicated that the deadline set by Saudi Arabia for cooperation with the player is a step before legal action is taken against him under International Football Association rules.
She added that the club has begun to develop an alternative plan in anticipation of being unable to join Fathi, who is currently trying to resolve the military service issue that prevented him from leaving Egypt.
Sources said the club has begun looking into several files of foreign players in the front line to allow them if the deadline given to an Egyptian player who has offers from Al Ahly and Vanguard Army to his country expires.
Mustafa Fathi joined the Saudi Pro League last winter transfer season from Zamalek, where he helped maintain cooperation in the Premier League after a relegation threat, and also featured in the Asian Champions League in two matches and scored 3 goals.
