Qatari driver Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah has confirmed his readiness to compete in the 44th Lebanese International Rally, the final round of the 2022 Middle East Rally Championship.
The official competition will start today with a special exhibition stage at the Lebanese Automobile Club, which will be attended by 34 participants from Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, France, Italy and Andorra.
The competition will be tough from the start between Al-Attiyah and Roger Fegali, who holds the record for winning a rally in his country with 15 titles.
In press statements, Al-Attiyah expressed his happiness to participate in Rally Lebanon again, stressing that he is keen to win the title in this race despite being aware of the power of competition in the presence of very high level drivers.
He added that after training with the car, things are going well and he will do his best in all stages of the rally to complete the Middle East championship with another title.
Al-Attiyah advances to the last round of the Middle East Championship and leads the overall drivers standings with 149 points, a total 78 points difference from Omani Abdullah Al-Rawahi who is in second with 71 points, a difference that cannot be made up. so Al-Attiyah won the championship before this round.
Jordan’s Issa Abu Jamus is third with 59 points, while Kuwaiti Meshari Al-Dafiri is fourth with 51 points and Nasser Khalifa Al-Attiyah rounds out the top five positions with 49 points.
