Poland’s top seed Iga Shventik reached the final of the US Open after defeating Belarusian Arina Sobalenko in straight sets.

Šviontik came in with a group delay ahead of Sabolenko to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to set up a fiery matchup with Anas Jaber on Saturday for the title.

Šwionetek became the first Polish woman to reach the final of the tournament, where she would face Jaber, who became the first African to do the same earlier in the day.

Iga confirmed that when playing against Arena, you need to have the energy to fight back and be able to play quickly, which he lacked in the first set.

She added that after that, she was able to accumulate and use the energy and was able to defeat her.

Regarding Jaber’s confrontation, Iga emphasized that it is always difficult, especially since her Tunisian opponent has strong hands and must be careful in front of her.

She concluded by saying, “I don’t know what’s going to happen. For now, I’ll just enjoy the ending.”
