Spaniard Carlos Alcaras expressed his joy in connection with the victory over the American Francis Tiafoe and reaching the final of the US Open.

The 19-year-old ranked fourth in the world defeated Tiafoe 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3 in a marathon match that lasted 4 hours 19 minutes.

In the final, Alcaraz will face Norway’s Kasper Ruud, who eliminated Kazakhstan’s Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals, and whoever wins between them will rise to the top of the world tennis rankings.

Alcaraz said after his victory: “It’s great that you can compete for big things, this is my first time in the final and I’m looking forward to the first place in the classification, but at the same time I’m still far away, Rod has a very high level and he deserves to be in the final.”

Alcaraz and Rod, who have previously faced each other in two games decided in their favor by the Spaniard, are aiming for the first major league title of their careers.
